Su-25 bomber crashes in Russia near Ukraine border

A Su-25 bomber crashed in the Belgorod region of Russia on Thursday. The district governor Vyacheslav Gladkov was the first to release the information about the crash of the plane of the Ministry of Defence of Russia. He wrote in a telegram that the incident had happened near the city of Valuyki, with reasons being investigated.

 

Later, the Russian agency Tass cited the security forces as saying that the Su-24 bomber crashed near a village and the pilot managed to eject. 

 

Belgorod District of Russia borders Luhansk, Kharkiv and Sumy Districts of Ukraine. The local government periodically accuses the Ukrainian military of destroying populated areas of the district.
