Adjara Regional Government Head Sulkhan Tamazashvili highlighted the region’s pivotal role in Georgian culture at a ceremony honoring cultural figures with state awards.
“Adjara has always been one of the most distinguished centers of Georgian culture,” Tamazashvili said. “I am proud that our region is home to individuals who not only represent our area with dignity but also enrich the country’s cultural life daily. I want to extend special thanks for their tireless work and for passing these values on to future generations.”
The ceremony, held at the Presidential Palace, saw President Mikheil Kavelashvili award the recipients with Orders of Excellence and Merit based on the joint nomination of Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.
Among the awardees from Adjara were members of the Pesvebi senior choreography ensemble of the Shuakhevi Cultural Center.
