The chairman of Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia’s Adjara branch, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, held a final campaign rally in Batumi, addressing supporters ahead of Georgia’s local elections on Saturday.

In his speech, Tamazashvili stressed that Georgia must become a model of “development and progress” through the protection of national values and hard work, adding that economic progress and social welfare are impossible without peace.

Turning to the mayoral race, Tamazashvili voiced support for Georgian Dream’s Batumi candidate Giorgi Tsintsadze, describing him as a professional who was ready to confront challenges and continue the city’s development.

“With tireless work, love of our homeland, respect for our history and traditions, and by safeguarding national values, we can turn Georgia into an example of progress and development. Every step we take must be guided by peace and responsibility, and this is the policy Giorgi Tsintsadze will carry forward as Batumi’s mayor,” Tamazashvili said, urging voters to support “peace, development and a dignified future” on 4 October.

During the rally, Tamazashvili also expressed gratitude to Georgian Dream’s honorary chairman Bidzina Ivanishvili and party chairman, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, for their leadership and backing in Adjara.

Other party figures addressing supporters alongside Tsintsadze included the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Adjara Davit Gabaidze, MP Archil Beridze, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council Ramaz Jincharadze, and city assembly chairman candidate Ivane Maisuradze.
