The Chairman of the Government of Adjara, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, has inspected ongoing infrastructure developments in Georgia’s mountainous region of Upper Adjara.

During a visit to the village of Danisparauli in Khulo Municipality, officials announced the construction of a new public school designed to accommodate up to 120 students. Built to modern standards, the school will be fully equipped with the necessary facilities and will include an outdoor sports field.

Progress was also reported on the region’s gasification programme, which has entered its final stage. Construction is currently underway on a 7-kilometre section of the main gas pipeline between Riketi and Zarzma. The project’s first phase has already been completed, bringing natural gas access to approximately 12,000 households. Upon completion of the second phase, an additional 15,200 subscribers are expected to be connected to the network.

Meanwhile, at the Goderdzi resort area, construction of a new three-storey administrative building has been finalised. The facility will host offices for Goderdzi Resort Ltd., the Resort Development Agency, the Patrol Police, and the Emergency Coordination and Response Centre.

Authorities say the projects aim to enhance living standards, improve access to essential services, and boost tourism and economic activity in the highland areas of Adjara.
