Georgian and Kazakh interior ministers discuss closer police cooperation

Georgian Interior Minister Sulkhan Tamazashvili has held talks with his Kazakh counterpart Yerzhan Sadenov during the latter’s official visit to Georgia.
The meeting focused on what both sides described as close and effective cooperation between the two countries’ law enforcement agencies.
The ministers also discussed ongoing reforms within Georgia’s Interior Ministry and future plans in the policing and security sectors.
Officials highlighted the importance of exchanging information and professional experience within the framework of police cooperation and expressed readiness to further strengthen bilateral ties.
The meeting at the Interior Ministry in Tbilisi was also attended by First Deputy Interior Minister Roni Meskhi, Deputy Interior Minister Aleksandre Darakhvelidze and other senior ministry officials.
Following the talks, Sadenov awarded several Georgian Interior Ministry officials with medals and certificates from Kazakhstan’s Interior Ministry for their contribution to bilateral cooperation and efforts against transnational criminal groups.
Among those honoured were Roni Meskhi, International Relations Department head Sopio Imerlishvili, Central Criminal Police Department director Davit Kiknadze and other officers from the department.
