Georgia’s Interior Minister Sulkhan Tamazashvili has held an introductory meeting with Armenia’s ambassador to Georgia, Ashot Smbatyan, focusing on bilateral cooperation and regional security issues.

According to the Interior Ministry, the sides discussed the close and effective cooperation between Georgia and Armenia and underlined the importance of further strengthening partnership ties between the two countries.

Talks also covered ongoing developments in the region and current security-related issues.

The ministry said particular attention was paid to cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Georgia and Armenia, with both sides expressing readiness to continue active joint work aimed at deepening existing partnership relations further.
