Georgian Interior Minister meets newly appointed Turkish ambassador

Georgia’s Interior Minister Sulkhan Tamazashvili has held an introductory meeting with Turkey’s newly appointed ambassador to Georgia, Mustafa Türker Arı.
Tamazashvili congratulated the ambassador on the start of his diplomatic mission in Georgia and wished him success in his role, his office said on Friday.
During the meeting, the two sides underlined the strategic partnership between Georgia and Turkey and discussed the importance of sharing experience and best practices.
The talks also focused on police cooperation between the two countries, including collaboration through police attachés, the continuous exchange of crime-related information and the organisation of regular working visits.
Tamazashvili thanked the Turkish side for what he described as productive cooperation and reaffirmed Georgia’s readiness to continue strengthening partnership with Turkey in the field of law enforcement.
