The State Security Service of Georgia has claimed that neither Georgian nor Israeli intelligence agencies had any information suggesting a potential terrorist attack in Georgia, and therefore, no warnings were issued.

“In coordination with representatives of the Israeli intelligence services, who expressed surprise at the spread of inaccurate information, we can confirm that the reports are false,” the GSSS said in a statement.

The agency added that it was “regrettable and concerning” that certain media outlets had published such information without verification.

“We strongly urge everyone to refrain from disseminating unverified information that could harm Georgia,” the statement added.

The reports followed media claims that several members of the Israeli Knesset canceled their planned visits to Georgia due to alleged terror threats.
