The State Security Service of Georgia announced on Saturday that the investigation into a possible crime involving assistance to a foreign organisation engaged in hostile activities was ongoing.
At a briefing, Lasha Maghradze, Deputy Head of the agency, said that one of the two lines of inquiry - concerning the alleged use by police of Camite, a substance banned in the 1930s, during protests - had been fully exhausted, as the claim was deemed fabricated.
He said the agency continued to investigate the alleged offence under Article 319 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which involves aiding a foreign organisation in hostile activities.
