Georgian citizen detained near Khurvaleti released, Security Service confirms

The State Security Service of Georgia on Wednesday announced Tengiz Korashvili, who was illegally detained by Russian occupation forces near the village of Khurvaleti in Gori Municipality on May 19, has been released.

The body said Korashvili has already returned to the territory controlled by the central Government.

“The Georgian citizen illegally detained near Khurvaleti on May 19, Tengiz Korashvili, is now free and is on territory controlled by the central authorities. Work continues actively to secure the release of all Georgian citizens unlawfully held in occupied territories,” the Security Service said in its statement.
