The State Security Service of Georgia extended condolences to the family of the deceased

The investigative division of the Shida Kartli and Mtskheta-Mtianeti District Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation under Article 115 of Georgia’s Criminal Code - incitement to suicide - following the death of an employee of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the State Security Service of Georgia.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the agency employee was found dead today inside his vehicle on Tabidze Street in Khashuri with a gunshot wound allegedly inflicted using his own firearm.

Relevant urgent investigative actions are currently underway.

The State Security Service of Georgia extended condolences to the family of the deceased.

“The State Security Service expresses deep sorrow over the death of an outstanding, dignified, and highly professional employee of the Anti-Corruption Agency and extends condolences to the victim’s family and loved ones.

His death is a great tragedy and loss for us and for our service,” the agency said in a statement.
