US citizen arrested in Batumi for serious crime against minor

In a special operation conducted in Batumi, in Georgia’s west, the State Security Service, in collaboration with the General Prosecutor’s Office and relevant USagencies, has arrested a US citizen. The individual was wanted by authorities in Idaho for a serious crime involving a minor, GSSS said on Tuesday.

According to the State Security Service, items belonging to the arrested individual were seized, including electronic devices, portable computers, and various pieces of specialized equipment.

The arrested person will face legal proceedings to facilitate their extradition to the United States and the transfer of the seized evidence.
