Tamar Bagrationi visited Penitentiary Establishment No. 5, a women’s facility, to congratulate female inmates on Mother’s Day.

Bagrationi attended a concert held with the participation of convicted women, alongside Justice Minister Paata Salia and members of parliament Nino Tsilosani and Eka Chichinadze, among other invited guests.

During the visit, the First Lady toured a newly renovated sewing workshop set to open in the near future, as well as a beauty salon, fitness hall and library operating within the facility. These spaces function as part of inmate resocialisation and rehabilitation programmes.

Female inmates presented Bagrationi and other guests with handmade items they had created as gifts, the statement said.
