Georgia’s newly appointed Ambassador to the United States, Tamar Taliashvili, officially presented her credentials to US President Donald Trump at the White House.
During the ceremony, President Trump wished Ambassador Taliashvili success in her diplomatic mission. The ambassador conveyed warm greetings and congratulations on behalf of the Georgian government, Prime Minister, President, and people of Georgia, along with key messages reaffirming the country's commitment to strengthening ties with the United States.
“It was an important day in US-Georgia relations,” Taliashvili said. “I had the honor of presenting my credentials to President Trump. I conveyed the Georgian government’s message of readiness to turn a new page in our partnership, grounded in mutual benefit and a desire to further deepen people-to-people ties.”
The meeting was also attended by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Taliashvili thanked the US administration for organizing the ceremony in such a short timeframe and emphasized the strong support Georgia received to expedite the accreditation process.
She also noted that the day before, she had a productive and friendly meeting with the Chief of Protocol of the US State Department, Ambassador Monica Crawley.
“Throughout these meetings, we had the opportunity to discuss ways to enhance Georgia-US relations and outline a roadmap that will guide our future plans and cooperation,” Taliashvili said.
