This year’s interagency command-and-staff exercise Didgori 2025 stands out for its significantly expanded field components, aimed at enhancing tactical-level synchronization and coordination among the Defence Forces and various state agencies.

According to the Ministry of Defence, one of the key segments of the exercise took place in the Black Sea. The training involved a coordinated operation between the Defence Forces’ Special Operations Command - specifically, the Western Battalion’s naval diving unit - and the Tactical Group of the Coast Guard Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Border Police.

Under a simulated scenario, Defence Forces and MIA units jointly executed a synchronized boarding (abordage) operation at sea, demonstrating interagency cooperation in a maritime environment.

Didgori 2025 aims to strengthen coordination and interoperability among government bodies during crises, emergencies, and wartime.

This year’s exercise comprises 29 field components and spans nearly every municipality of Georgia, including:
Tbilisi’s Krtsanisi and Aprica districts, Vaziani, Orpolo, Chokhatauri, Bolnisi, Algeti, Norio, Gori, Kopitnari, Senaki, Tianeti, Batumi, Poti, and Kobuleti.

The Defence Ministry noted that the scale and geographical coverage of Didgori 2025 reflect Georgia’s efforts to improve readiness, interagency cooperation, and rapid response capabilities nationwide.
