Georgia, Turkey discuss expanding cyber defence cooperation

Senior Georgian defence officials on Thursday held talks with representatives of Turkish Armed Forces to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in cyber defence.
The meeting brought together Deputy Chief of the Georgian Defence Forces Irakli Chichinadze, Cyber Security Bureau Director Luka Mgeladze, and Head of Turkey’s Cyber Defence Command Colonel Metin Durmaz, along with Cyber Support Battalion Commander Major Cagri Kayoglu.
Officials presented the mission and activities of the Cyber Security Bureau and reviewed ongoing cooperation between Georgia and Turkey in the field of cyber defence.
The discussions focused on future cooperation plans, including the importance of sharing expertise and participating in joint cyber exercises. The sides also emphasized the growing role of cyberspace as an operational domain and agreed to further deepen collaboration.
As part of the visit, representatives of Turkey’s Cyber Defence Command, together with the Turkish military attaché to Georgia, visited the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Centre, where they were briefed on the centre’s capabilities and toured its infrastructure.
