Tbilisi City Hall demolished illegally constructed six apartments in the Africa settlement, in the outskirts of the capital Tbilisi earlier today.

The Municipal Supervision Service of Tbilisi City Hall started the demolition at dawn.

The owners were not present as all the constructions were unfinished.

A large number of law enforcement officers were present at the scene.

It has been a general practice in previous years in Georgia, especially in 1990s, to build a construction on a non-registered plot of land in a bid to have it registered later.

A large number of such constructions have been registered for years, especially prior to elections.

Now, the government warns citizens of possible consequences if they pursue the unlawful action.
