The members of the opposition and the civil sector are now rallying in and adjacent to Tbilisi City Assembly, where the capital’s mayor Kakha Kaladze is scheduled to present the annual report of his office’s work.
The protesters are holding banners “corruption kills”, in reference to a deadly electrocution incident in Tbilisi central Vake park earlier this year in a newly renovated fountain, which killed a 13-year-old minor.
Before presenting the report, Kaladze asked the deputies of the body to observe a moment of silence in memory of the deceased minor Marita Meparishvili.
The city assembly will also vote on the next year budget of the city hall.
