Georgian president Salome Zourabishvili on Friday slammed the country’s authorities for showing “neither rationalism, nor diplomacy” towards the questions related to Ukraine, on the background of the latter’s ongoing conflict with Russia.

In her annual speech to the parliament, the official also criticized the country’s authorities for using the “Russian messagebox” on the opening of the second front in Georgia and “misleading” the public over the country’s European integration.

She claimed the authorities would not “scare” her by “banning her foreign trips”, regional meetings, or her affiliation with “some forces”, stressing she would “continue to fight” for the country’s EU integration.

Zourabichvili announced on April 18 she would address the European Parliament.

“I have recently received the invitation of the President of the European Parliament to give a speech in the body, which has not happened since 2010. On April 18, I will address the European Parliament with a speech. I know it will not be easy, but it is necessary for Europe to understand and listen to what our people have to say,” she said.
