Georgia’s Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili on Monday said the Georgian government would send generators to Ukraine this month.

He said the process of purchasing generators had started and “Ukrainian friends will receive reliable generators of different capacities” by the end of this year.

Ukraine is requesting generators as Russian troops have hit its critical infrastructure amid the ongoing war.

The head of the Georgian government administration, Revaz Javelidze, said earlier this month that prime minister Irakli Garibashvili had instructed the economy ministry to purchase generators.

Prior to this, the Ukrainian representation in Georgia said it had appealed to the Georgian authorities for generators, with the latter making “no response”.
