Police in Georgia have arrested four people on suspicion of committing a group robbery in the capital, Tbilisi, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said on Thursday.

Officers from the Tbilisi Police Department’s Old Tbilisi Main Division detained four suspects born in 2002, 2006 and 2007.

Investigators said the suspects attacked a foreign national, a man born in 1995, in Tbilisi. The attackers allegedly assaulted the victim and stole his wallet, a high-value mobile phone and a watch before fleeing the scene.

The victim was taken to a clinic with injuries, where he received medical treatment.

Authorities said the material damage caused to the victim amounts to 10,000 Georgian lari.

The crime carries a sentence of up to nine years in prison.
