Police in Georgia have arrested two people on suspicion of illegally purchasing and possessing especially large quantities of narcotics and facilitating their distribution, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has said.
Officers from the Old Tbilisi Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department seized especially large quantities of drugs allegedly prepared for sale during searches of the suspects and their residence, as well as from several locations during an investigative experiment.
The seized substances included mephedrone, tetrahydrocannabinol and alpha-PVP, the ministry said.
The offence carries penalties of up to 20 years' imprisonment or life imprisonment, according to the ministry.
