Two arrested in Tbilisi over large-scale drug possession, distribution

The charges carry a potential penalty of up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment

Officers from the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia have arrested two individuals on charges related to the illegal purchase, possession and facilitation of the distribution of particularly large quantities of narcotic and psychotropic substances.
The suspects - identified as T.S., born in 1986, and a foreign national, S.H., born in 1998 - were detained at different times.
Law enforcement officers conducted searches of the suspects’ personal belongings and residential apartments in Tbilisi, where they seized particularly large quantities of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances as evidence. The confiscated substances included Methadone, Alpha‑PVP and Ketamine.
Police also seized materials used for packaging narcotic substances.
The charges carry a potential penalty of up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
