Officers from the Tbilisi Police Department of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested two individuals in connection with a fatal stabbing incident that occurred in a bar in the capital.
According to the Ministry’s statement, 34-year-old man, who has a criminal record for grave crimes, was detained on charges of premeditated murder. Another 44-year-old man was arrested for failing to report a particularly serious crime.
The Ministry reported that the incident took place during a dispute inside a bar in Tbilisi, where the 34-year-old allegedly stabbed a 17-year-old male with a cold weapon. The victim died at the scene from his injuries, while the suspect fled immediately afterward.
Following prompt investigative and search operations, police arrested him shortly after the incident.
Authorities also determined that the second detained individual witnessed the murder but failed to inform law enforcement, leading to his arrest under Georgia’s criminal code.
The investigation is ongoing under Articles 108 (premeditated murder) and 376 (failure to report a particularly serious crime) of Georgia’s Criminal Code. If convicted, the main suspect faces up to 15 years in prison.
