Three persons have been arrested in Tbilisi for an armed robbery committed against a foreign citizen, Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) announced on Sunday.
According to the MIA, officers from the Vake-Saburtalo Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department detained the suspects—identified as S.A. (born in 2005), L.J. (born in 2006), and D.A. (born in 2006)—shortly after the incident took place.
The investigation revealed that the suspects attacked a foreign national, K.B. (also born in 2005), during nighttime hours using a gas pistol. They allegedly threatened the victim’s life, demanded money and valuables, and ultimately made off with computer equipment and other expensive items before fleeing the scene.
Law enforcement officers recovered the weapon used in the robbery and the stolen items during the investigation.
The suspects are charged under Article 179, Part 2, Subsection "b" of the Georgian Criminal Code, which pertains to robbery committed by a group—a crime punishable by 11 to 15 years in prison.
