Three arrested in Tbilisi for drug crimes

Officers from the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia have arrested three individuals on charges of illegal purchase and possession of narcotic substances and facilitating their illegal distribution.

Those detained include G.M., born in 1994, as well as two foreign nationals - A.A., born in 1988, and N.A., born in 1997.

Law enforcement officers carried out searches of the suspects’ personal belongings and residential apartments in Tbilisi. During the operation, police seized narcotic substances packaged for sale as evidence, including Buprenorphine and dried Cannabis, the MIA press office said. 

The offences carry a potential penalty of up to 20 years’ imprisonment or life in prison.
