Three arrested in Tbilisi on drug-related charges, large quantities of narcotics seized

Police in the Georgian capital city of Tbilisi have arrested three individuals on charges related to the illegal acquisition, possession and facilitation of the sale of large and especially large quantities of narcotic substances, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on Saturday.

The Ministry added law enforcement officers seized various types of narcotic substances in especially large quantities during personal searches of the suspects and from locations they indicated. The seized drugs include alpha-PVP, methadone, methamphetamine, mephedrone and marijuana.

The crime is punishable by up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
