Turkish citizen arrested in Tbilisi for possession of large quantity of narcotics

Officers of the Vake-Saburtalo Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department have arrested a citizen of Turkey, identified as V.E., born in 1993, following operational and investigative measures.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, during a personal search near Mtatsminda Park, police seized nearly 200 grams of the narcotic substance mephedrone as evidence.
The offense is punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
The investigation is ongoing under Article 260, Part 3, Subparagraph “a” of Georgia’s Criminal Code, which pertains to the illegal possession of narcotics in especially large quantities.
