Central criminal police arrest suspect on drug charges, attack on officers

Officers of the Central Criminal Police Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested a man born in 1999, identified as Z.K., on charges of illegal acquisition and possession of a particularly large quantity of narcotic drugs and attacking police officers.
According to the ministry, the suspect was stopped in Tbilisi based on operative intelligence. Upon seeing the police, Z.K. attempted to flee and deliberately rammed a police vehicle with his car.
Law enforcement officers detained the suspect at the scene. A search of his vehicle resulted in the seizure of a liquid substance containing the narcotic drug alpha-PVP in a particularly large quantity.
The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260 and 353¹ of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which carry penalties of up to 20 years’ imprisonment or life sentence.
