US President Donald Trump is well informed about a plan developed by his special envoy Steve Witkoff to end the war in Ukraine, which has become a priority for the White House, according to Suspilne.

A source within the White House told the outlet that over the past month, Trump’s administration has been quietly working on this diplomatic roadmap. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also confirmed the effort.

"President Trump has been clear since day one that he wants the war between Russia and Ukraine to end, and he has grown frustrated with both sides for their refusal to commit to a peace agreement," she said.

Witkoff has reportedly spent the past month gathering proposal ideas from both Ukrainian and Russian officials, aiming to identify conditions each side would accept in order to end the conflict. According to the source, the plan “almost certainly” requires concessions from both nations.

“The special envoy has been working quietly for a month, talking to both Ukrainians and Russians about what terms they would accept to end the war. Both parties will have to give ground and Trump knows this and supports the approach,” the source said.
