14 arrested in Tbilisi nightclub raids over fraud, extortion

Fourteen people have been arrested following a series of late-night raids on nightclubs in Tbilisi as part of a special operation targeting an organized group accused of fraud and extortion, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has confirmed.

Teimuraz Kupatadze, Director of the Central Criminal Police Department, revealed the suspects had been extorting money from foreign nationals through psychological manipulation and violent methods. The arrests took place across five different nightclubs in the capital, with authorities indicating that further arrests may follow as the investigation continues.
