Tamar Kordzaia, a member of the opposition party United National Movement (UNM), emphasized the party’s desire to work closely with President Salome Zourabichvili, describing her as an ally. Kordzaia acknowledged the President’s contributions and expressed the opposition’s appreciation for her efforts.

“We value her work, particularly her role in creating the opposition charter during a critical period when the political landscape was still unclear,” Kordzaia stated.

She also mentioned that opposition parties plan to consult with the President on selecting a candidate for the next Prime Minister.

“Given that we, the opposition parties, recognize the President as the last constitutional body in Georgia, who has preserved the country’s reputation internationally, we see her as a key partner in this process,” she said.

This statement comes after President Zourabichvili’s announcement on October 12, in which she revealed her intention to propose a technical government ahead of the upcoming elections.
