Two Ukrainian Citizens Arrested for Theft in Tbilisi

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Georgia has announced the arrest of two Ukrainian citizens on charges of theft. Officers from the Isani-Samgori Division of Tbilisi Police Department detained the individuals, identified as I.H. and L.I., both born in 1992, following an investigation and search operations.

MIA statement reads that I.H. unlawfully entered an apartment in Tbilisi with the intent to steal and successfully took items belonging to a local resident. Meanwhile, L.I. attempted to break into another home in Tbilisi but failed to complete the burglary. However, L.I. later managed to steal items from a vehicle belonging to another citizen.

The stolen items were recovered as evidence during the investigation. Both suspects now face charges under Article 177, Part 3, Subsection “G” and Article 19-177, Part 3, Subsection “G” of the Georgian Criminal Code, which carry penalties of four to seven years in prison.
