The Labor Inspectorate is given the right to prevent crowded events. In particular, according to the current regulation, if the inspection has the right to issue a fine in case of the fact of gathering, wedding, memorial services and other gatherings, the new resolution gives it the opportunity to respond as soon as it receives information about the planned event. Response involves sealing an object or items needed for mass events (e.g., audio equipment).
According to the government decree, the Labor Inspection Service, in coordination with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, is authorized to temporarily restrict the use of space and/or items (including objects or specific places, equipment and/or other items directly related to preventing the spread of the virus), and in case of repeated critical discrepancies in the measure specified in paragraph 1 of this article, to limit the use of the space/item on the object and to transfer the case to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia to initiate criminal proceedings. It is not allowed to enter the facility without permission, to ignore the requirements imposed on the facility by the Labor Inspection Service”.
Due to the severe epidemic situation in the country, control over the enforcement of the ban on social activities has been tightened in recent days. Dozens of places have already been fined.
