The number of COVID-19 infections in the world exceeded 106.4 million, the number of victims – 2.3 million

The number of detected infections with coronavirus in the world since the beginning of the pandemic on Tuesday morning was 106  474 965 cases, according to data from the American University of Johns Hopkins.

Worldwide, the number of deaths from COVID-19-related diseases increased per day to 2 325 381, more than 77 million people recovered.

Countries with 5 million or more COVID-19 infections include the United States, India and Brazil.

The United States remains the leader in the number of people infected and died, where 27 90 932 COVID-19 infections were detected, 464 933 deaths were recorded, about 17 million people were cured.

The second largest number of people infected is India, where the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic amounted to 10 million 847 thousand 304, the number of deaths – 155 thousand 158, more than 10.5 million people recovered.

Brazil has the third position in the world in terms of the number of infected. Here, during the pandemic, 9 548 079 cases were registered, of which 232170 people died, more than 8.4 million were cured.

According to the portal Worldometer, which specializes in statistics on the most important world events, the death rate per 1 million of the world's population was 299.7 as of Tuesday morning. In the United States, 1 thousand 434 people died per 1 million inhabitants, India – 112, Brazil – 1 thousand 88.
