The number of detected infections with coronavirus in the world on Saturday morning amounted to 156 million 900 thousand 851, according to the American Johns Hopkins University.
Globally, since the beginning of the spread of the virus, the number of deaths from diseases associated with COVID-19 has reached 3 million 269 thousand 841 people.
Countries with over 10 million cases of COVID-19 infection include the United States, India and Brazil.
The United States remains the leader in the number of people infected and died, where a total of 32 million 651 thousand 36 infected with COVID-19 were detected, 580 thousand 886 deaths were recorded.
India ranks second in terms of the number of infected, where the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 continues to grow at a high rate. Over the past day, the number of infected increased by 401 thousand 78 cases and reached 21 million 892 thousand 676, the number of deaths with a record daily increase of 4 thousand 187 was 238 thousand 270.
In the third position in the world in terms of the number of infected Brazil, where during the pandemic 15 million 82 thousand 449 cases were registered, of which 419 thousand 114 people died.
According to the portal Worldometer, which specializes in statistics on the most important world events, the death rate per million of the world's population was 421.3 on Saturday morning. In the United States, 1 thousand 788 people died per 1 million inhabitants, India – 171, Brazil – 1 thousand 961.
