The Prime Minister of Georgia discusses situation in region and development of bilateral trade and economic ties with Iranian Foreign Minister

The Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif.

The main topics of conversation were the situation in the region, including recent developments and the important role of Georgia in terms of economic development of the region, as well as ensuring stability in the region.

Issues related to bilateral and regional relations were discussed at the meeting. In the context of bilateral relations, the strengthening of trade and economic ties between the two countries, the strengthening of transit, transport communication between the two countries and the use of existing potential in this regard, as well as the importance of timely resolution of difficulties in these areas.

Talks also focused on the current pandemic situation in both countries and future plans.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran reaffirmed his unwavering support for Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Alexander Khvtisiashvili attended the meeting held at the Government Administration.
