Opposition alleges large-scale vote fraud in recent elections

Tengiz Tevzadze, a member of the Coalition for Changes, has claimed that between 250,000 to 300,000 votes were falsified in the recent elections, suggesting the use of sophisticated mechanisms beyond simple ballot-stuffing.

“In my opinion, we are talking about 250,000 to 300,000 falsified votes, which, I am sure, could not have been accumulated by slipping only two ballots. This indicates the presence of a technological carousel,” Tevzadze claimed. He highlighted that voter turnout in the early hours on October 26 was unusually high, which he believes unsettled the ruling Georgian Dream”party and led to errors in managing the alleged fraudulent process.

Tevzadze noted that the voter activity spike in the morning took the ruling party by surprise, causing them to miscalculate the scale of the falsification. “The average statistics for the last four or five elections saw an increase of 300,000 votes, all of which went in favor of Georgian Dream. This technological manipulation indicates that individuals can influence the outcome. Georgian Dream faced challenges managing the election process, particularly when the unexpected morning turnout created panic and led to excessive manipulation,” he said.

He further argued that this was unprecedented in Georgia’s electoral history: “We have experienced many flawed elections, but this is the first time that at least three basic principles were violated,” Tevzadze concluded.
