Three individuals, including two minors, are missing after heavy rainfalls and landslides hit Georgia’s western regions of Adjara and Guria, the Interior Ministry confirmed on Friday, adding the emergency service had received more than 100 notifications from the affected municipalities on Thursday and early on Friday.

Local authorities said the lanchkhuti municipality had been particularly affected, with houses swept away, trees downed, bridges and other infrastructure “severely damaged or destroyed”.

Rescuers and heavy hardware are involved in rescue and cleaning efforts, the Interior Ministry said.
