Three more members in regional city assemblies left the Georgian Dream (GD) ruling party on Wednesday with the goal to “openly tell the public the truth,” sharing the aspirations of three former GD MPs who raised accusations against MEPs, domestic political forces and NGOs and the US ambassador since leaving the party last month.
Those who left the party on July 13 were: Levan Kochloshvili, a member of the GD faction in Telavi City Assembly, Imeda Mghebrishvili, the chairman of the GD faction in Adigeni City Assembly, and Gia Chelishvili, the chairman of the GD faction in Aspindza City Assembly.
Earlier this week four other members left the ruling party in Chiatura, Terjola, Gori and Lagodekhi city assemblies.
The opposition said that the individuals, along with the three former MPs of the ruling party, Sozar Subari, Mikheil Kavelashvili and Dimitri Khundadze, were “voicing the anti-Western attitudes” of the founder of the GD Bidzina Ivanishvili, whom the opposition call an oligarch.
