Three of 437,094 completely vaccinated die from Covid in Georgia

Only three of the 437,094 completely vaccinated individuals have died from Covid-19 in Georgia so far, head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control Amiran Gamkrelidze stated today. 

 

He said that the majority of vaccinated individuals suffered from mild forms of the virus. 

 

Gamkrelidze stated that vaccination decreases the risks of both contraction of the virus and serious health complications in infected individuals. 

 

He has stated that currently there are 25,000 pregnant women in the country and encouraged them to get the jab ‘as vaccination decreased the risk of contracting the virus by 25 pecent, while death  by 200 percent.’ 

 

More than 12 pregnant women have died from the virus in the country so far. 

 

Georgia has reported 3,034 new cases of Covid-19 of 36,400 tests , 3,952 recoveries and 86 deaths in the past 24 hours.  45,782 individuals remain infected with the virus in Georgia as of today. 

 

1,259,391 individuals have received at least one dose of the vaccine in the country so far, of which  437,094 individuals have been fully vaccinated since March 2021.
