Tina Bokuchava, head of the opposition United National Movement (UNM), on Thursday called on the eight-party opposition coalition to end cooperation with Tamar Chergoleishvili, leader of the political party Federalists.

Bokuchava condemned Chergoleishvili’s recent Facebook comments, saying that “the goal cannot justify the means, especially when it concerns children.” She stressed that politics without ethical norms was unacceptable and vowed never to associate with a politician who insults or curses children.

Her appeal comes after Chergoleishvili responded to online critics by reposting photos of children taken from their profiles. She later apologised, admitting her response was inappropriate and pledging not to repeat such actions.
