According to MP Levan Ioseliani, as a result of the electoral reform, the parties that have overcome the barrier will have their own members in the Central and District Election Commissions.
As Ioseliani told reporters, the memorandum signed between the Georgian Dream and the Citizens stipulates that all parties must have their own members in the CEC.
"Today we agreed that everyone will have their own member both at the Central Election Commission and at the district level, and parity will be maintained in favor of the parties. We try to insure the choice of a professional part in this process with the involvement of non-governmental organizations. The demand of the political parties was that they should not be represented by a deliberative vote, but by full members. This has been achieved and all political parties will have full members both at the CEC and at the district level. As for the Precinct Election Commission, this component remains open, on which non-governmental organizations have their own position, and we will discuss this issue.
Under the current system, only three parties had representatives in the CEC. "In the future, both the one percent party and the 40 percent party will have their own members," Ioseliani said.
