Tolerance, appreciation of a human being, respect for dignity, and acceptance of the difference make up a continuous tradition of our great culture and history and an inseparable part of Georgian identity, Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili said on Wednesday as the world marks Day of Tolerance.

“Over the centuries, different people of various ethnicities, creeds, and traditions have coexisted in our land in dignity, creating the history of our common homeland together.Even today, this great legacy and values are the foundation for building a modern, European Georgia and a peaceful, development-oriented society. Every group of this society, and each of its members, should have a sense of being a participant and creator of this important process”, said the government head.

He stressed that the country’s constitution”recognizes and guarantees the fundamental values of human rights and freedoms. We respect and will always protect the dignity and freedom of each citizen”.
