Tourist visits restored by 77.4% compared to 2019 – Tourism Administration

The National Tourism Administration of Georgia said on Wednesday that compared to August 2019, this year international tourist visits have increased by 77.4%, and travelers’ visits increased by 67.1%.

According to the administration, 582,995 international tourist visits took place in Georgia in August 2022, which was a 135.8% increase compared to the same period of 2021.

In addition, the number of international travelers in Georgia increased by 195.5% compared to last year. In particular, in August of this year, 912,041 international travelers visited the country, said the Tourism administration. 

The agency said that In the last eight months, 2,251,978 tourists have entered the country. 

“The mentioned amount is 65.3% of tourist visits in the same period of 2019, and compared to last year, it marks an increase by 155%”, said the Tourism Administration. 

As for the number of international travelers, 3,256,370 travelers entered Georgia in January-August.

According to the agency, compared to the data of eight months of 2019, the recovery rate of international travelers’ visits amounted to 51.5%. Compared to the same period of 2021, the number of travelers increased by 208.9%, said the Tourism Administration.
