Severe winds in Tkibuli, a town in west-central Georgia, have caused significant damage to residential buildings, affecting 23 homes, including 15 multi-apartment complexes. The strong gusts ripped off roofs, leaving many structures exposed to the elements.

The municipality is operating in emergency mode, with a disaster assessment commission currently evaluating the extent of the damage. Local crews are conducting temporary repairs, while preparations for full-scale roof rehabilitation are set to begin immediately.

The strong winds persist in Tkibuli, complicating efforts to mitigate the damage. Authorities are urging residents to remain cautious as the situation develops.
