Trump pledges US support for ‘long-lasting’ peace in Ukraine during White House meeting

US President Donald Trump on Monday highlighted any peace in Ukraine must be “long-lasting,” vowing US cooperation with Ukraine, Russia, and international partners to ensure a stable resolution to the ongoing conflict.

Speaking at the White House during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Trump said, “We will work with Ukraine, we will work with everyone, and we will make sure that peace is long-lasting. We are not talking about a two-year peace that will then turn into chaos.”

“We will make sure that everything is good. We will work with Russia, with Ukraine, and make sure everything works”, he added.
