US President Donald Trump has issued a new, shortened deadline for Russia to reach a peace agreement with Ukraine, giving Moscow less than two weeks to act.

Speaking Monday from Scotland, Trump said he was “very disappointed” in Russian President Vladimir Putin and would reduce the initial 50-day window he set earlier this month to just 10–12 days from now.

“I’m going to make a new deadline, of about 10 or 12 days from today,” Trump told reporters. “There’s no reason for waiting. It was 50 days. I wanted to be generous, but we just don’t see any progress being made.”

The original timeline was announced on July 14 during Trump’s meeting with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte in Washington. The revised deadline suggests a heightened sense of urgency, especially as secondary US sanctions are set to be implemented within the same period.

“I’m not so interested in talking anymore,” Trump said while seated alongside British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. “He talks — we have such nice, respectful conversations. And then people die the following night.”

Trump’s remarks came just hours after Russia launched over 300 drones and missiles across Ukraine in one of the largest air assaults in recent weeks. Kyiv was heavily targeted, with at least five people injured, including a 2-year-old girl. Strikes also hit the Khmelnytskyi and Kirovohrad regions. In response, Poland deployed fighter jets to monitor the situation.

“I’ve spoken to President Putin a lot. I would have said five times we would have had a deal,” Trump added. “We thought it was settled numerous times. And then Putin launches rockets into some city like Kyiv and kills a lot of people in a nursing home or whatever. You have bodies lying all over the street.”

Trump hinted that his patience is running thin and suggested he already expects the outcome. “We’re going to have to look, and I’m going to reduce that 50 days that I gave him to a lesser number, because I think I already know the answer,” he said.
