Former President Donald Trump does not rule out the possibility of making a written statement during the impeachment in the US Senate. So he plans to avoid having to attend Senate hearings in person.

This is reported by NBC with reference to its sources.

It is noted that Trump is preparing for impeachment proceedings, selecting a team of lawyers who will represent his interests.

Earlier it became known that Donald Trump hired South Carolina lawyer Butch Bowers, who will represent him in the Senate in the impeachment case. Bowers represented former Republican governors in South Carolina.

Donald Trump is the only US President to be impeached twice by the House of Representatives, and he may become the first to be impeached after leaving office.
