Trump: Russia and Ukraine “very close” to making deal

US President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that Russia and Ukraine are nearing a peace agreement after a day of talks and meetings.

“Just landed in Rome. A good day in talks and meetings with Russia and Ukraine. They are very close to a deal, and the two sides should now meet, at very high levels, to ‘finish it off,'” Trump posted. He added that most major points have been agreed upon and urged both sides to “stop the bloodshed, NOW.”

Trump emphasized that he and his team are prepared to assist wherever needed to help bring an end to what he called a “cruel and senseless war.”
